Hopping Across The North East From Hub To Hub

EnAppSys fast-tracks European expansion into Italy

Silvia Messa

An ambitious Teesside firm renowned for its valuable insights on the energy market is planning to fast-track its aggressive global expansion plans with its focus now on developing its business in the Nordic, German and Italian energy markets.

Stockton-on-Tees-based EnAppSys already operates across several European markets, including France, the Netherlands, Belgium and Ireland, and also has a strong footprint in the UK.

Now the company, which is part of the Montel Group headquartered in Norway, is developing plans for the Germany and Italian energy markets with the appointment of country manager for Germany and Italy, Silvia Messa.

In her new role, Silvia will provide consultancy services, market analysis, sales and customer support for EnAppSys’ growing portfolio of clients in the Italian and German markets.  Previously she worked in senior management positions for major corporates in the energy technology and green energy markets.

Silvia’s arrival follows the appointment of Hungary-based Gábor Szatmári, who over the past 12 months has bolstered EnAppSys’ presence in the Central Eastern Europe market.

These developments are part of EnAppSys’ ambitious European expansion plans, which will see the firm triple headcount to more than 100 in the next couple of years. The company, which was launched in 2003 by director Phil Hewitt, joined the Montel Group in January 2023 with Montel now having 200 staff working across Europe, with 40 of those staff working from the EnAppSys’ office in Stockton-on-Tees.

Phil Hewitt said: “Silvia brings a wealth of experience to her new role and will help us expand our reach in Italy and Germany. Our ambition is to enter other markets in Europe and further afield, whilst maintaining and strengthening our position in the markets in which we already operate. To do this, we’ll continue to recruit talented staff, both overseas and in the UK.  With Montel’s very strong presence and expertise in the Nordics market, we are now also developing the EnAppSys product coverage across the Nordic region.

“We’re proud of our Teesside roots and although we’re now viewed as an international company, we’ll continue to engage with local education providers to provide fantastic career opportunities for people here in the North East. There’s a hotbed of local talent in the area and a vast array of jobs on offer for people who want to forge a career in an exciting, fast-developing energy industry.”

Established in 2003, EnAppSys is a highly respected provider of data, consultancy and information services to companies in the energy and power generation markets. These services are used by some of the biggest wholesale energy market participants in Europe – including generators, stakeholders, suppliers and traders – to improve their understanding of the market and maximise the value they are able to extract from it.

EnAppSys is also at the cutting edge of the energy transition, empowering consumers to schedule their consumption to make it as green and cheap as possible.
