A boutique business insurance broker has appointed a new operations director.
Stockton-based Erimus has appointed Lee Elgie after ending 2019 on a high, maintaining its status as a Top 100 Independent Insurance Broker and remaining the largest independent broker to have its headquarters in the North East.
Lee joins the firm in a role created specifically for him, in which he will take control of various aspects of the business, including broking, compliance and finance, as well as improving operational efficiency at the firm.
Speaking about the appointment, Lee said: “I’m really excited to join Erimus. I’ve lived and worked around the country, but this area is home for me, so it feels great to be back.”
After graduating from university, Lee climbed the ranks at various insurance brokers moving from junior to directorship level in just a few years and obtaining Chartered Status along the way.
Most recently he held group responsibility for operations, regulation, compliance and HR across a brokerage, with multi-site locations, giving him valuable knowledge and experience to bring to his new role.
“I wouldn’t have come back for just any job,” Lee continued. “I know Erimus and its reputation is excellent, so the opportunity to work here was just too good to turn down.
“The people are fantastic at what they do, loyal and really welcoming. I genuinely feel at home here”
Director Paul Davison said: “Lee is a local lad who has worked around the UK and the wealth of experience he has gained will help us to continue to grow as a business.
“He’s an ambitious individual and we couldn’t be happier to have him with us.”
Erimus now has its sights firmly set on maintaining its position as a Top 100 Independent Broker, as well as investing in technology and people to grow the business and ensure a first-class service is provided.
The firm also plans to achieve £20m premium turnover within the next twelve months and continue its support of local community and charitable causes.
