A NORTH East firm which stages spectacular carnivals and street events is going from strength to strength as it hits the road this summer.
Creative Seed, a South Shields-based creative production company, will appear at some of the UK’s biggest carnivals and celebrations as it showcases its stunning work to a whole new audience.
The firm makes colourful costumes, fantastic floats and eye-popping props for carnivals, parades, parties and other events.
Throughout the summer, it is taking some of its finest creations on tour, as the team visits a host of big events across the UK.
Familiar to many across the North East for its work with the annual South Tyneside Festival Summer Parade, Creative Seed also supports other artists and carnival companies throughout the world.
Supplying everything from stilt-walkers and dancers to props and models, the firm is attending a number of events including Kendal’s Torchlight Carnival, Luton Carnival and similar events in Yorkshire and the East Midlands.
“We have a very busy summer ahead, but we are very excited about heading out across the country to help support a number of different carnivals,” said director Sandy Harris.
“Because we are based in South Shields and have such a strong presence in the town, people often don’t realise that we are also involved with other groups and events across the whole country.
“While we do work with a lot of large organisations, we also really enjoy supporting the smaller, more community-led events because we feel so passionate about bringing people together to celebrate in the areas where they live.
“As an organisation, we’re delighted that the word is spreading and we are being given the chance to showcase what we can do on a national and international level.”
Creative Seed is currently working with hundreds of youth groups, schools and community organisations ahead of this year’s Summer Parade on Saturday 30 June.
