Everyone's InvitedSTAR Wars stormtroopers, skateboard superstars and some of Disney’s most famous princesses will be mingling with shoppers at a special two day event – and Everyone’s Invited.

intu Metrocentre’s annual summer weekend event will return on 27 and 28 June and organisers have promised a packed programme of extreme sports and entertainment for all ages.

Over the course of the two days, Team Extreme, the UK’s top professional show team for BMX, Skateboard, Scooter, in-line and urban artists will be performing a series of shows.

Meanwhile, the Force will be with shoppers as Star Wars costuming group 99th Garrison take to the malls with light sabres and sci-fi fun and games.

Then, for younger visitors, favourite fairy tales will be brought to life as Disney princesses Elsa, Anna and Belle, make a special appearance – for one weekend only.

The cast of Cinderella will also be on hand with a special preview of the newest show by the Nice Swan Theatre Company – and visitors to the Platinum Mall will also be able to see Cinderella’s glass carriage.

While, for the third year running, Musical Ruth – as seen on Britain’s Got Talent – will be returning with her unique brand of humour and unexpected renditions of tunes old and new.

There will also be all the fun of the circus with performances from a professional juggler and yo-yo master and the chance for younger visitors to take part in a range of art and craft activities with the Metrognomes in the Village.

“Our Everyone’s Invited event is fast becoming the summer highlight for our shoppers” said intu Metrocentre marketing manager, Helen Atkinson.

“And this year we have everything, from sci-fi, to sport and princess-style sparkle – so there really is something for all the family.”

Team Extreme will perform a series of 15 minute shows throughout the day at Town Square, outside House of Fraser, on Saturday from 11am and 6pm and on Sunday from 11am to 4.30pm.
