Hopping Across The North East From Hub To Hub

Exclusive student shopping event at intu Metrocentre and intu Eldon Square

Students from universities and colleges across the north east can start their spring term in style with exclusive shopping events at the region’s biggest shopping centres.
intu Metrocentre and intu Eldon Square will be laying on evenings of exclusive discounts, free giveaways, exciting competitions and live entertainment at their student nights which have become a firm favourite on the student social calendar.
intu Metrocentre’s first ever spring student night is taking place on Wednesday 18 April from 5pm until 9pm, where student shoppers can take advantage of discounts from over 60 retailers including the chance to snap up new season essentials at Superdry and DW Sports, stylish jeans at Levi and indulge in a few chic treats from House of Fraser, Tessuti and Moss Bros.
Students who need to refuel after their shopping spree can tantalise their tastebuds at one of intu Metrocentre’s delicious restaurants – there will be some amazing deals for students on offer including the chance to bag a burrito for just £1 at Barburrito and free pizza or salad at MOD Pizza.
Goodie bags will be given away in The Village to the first 2000 students who flash their wristband while elsewhere in the centre shoppers will be treated to a funky mix of Capital North East’s hottest music.
Students can show off their skills on a surf simulator in Town Square, near House of Fraser and even try their hand at Namco Funscape’s inflatable bowling alley in Exhibition Square, near Primark. There’ll be a host of fun games and free competitions with retailers including Nando’s, wagamama and Wetherspoons with some great prizes available for the lucky winners.
Beauty aficionados can also indulge their glamorous side at the beauty bar in lower green mall, near Topshop and Next, where beauty brands such as Urban Decay, Boots No7 and The Body Shop will be offering makeovers and product sampling.
The shopping extravaganza continues over at intu Eldon Square’s student night on Tuesday 24 April where, from 4pm until 8pm, offers from over 70 of the shopping centre’s top retailers will be tempting students to revamp their wardrobes with the hottest styles of SS18.
As well as one-day-only discounts at Adidas and Lovisa, guaranteed to keep keen fashionistas happy, there’s 10% off all beauty counters in Debenhams for bargain skincare and make-up buys and tasty discounts at intu Eldon Square’s restaurants including 40% off food at Reds True Barbeque and George’s Great British Kitchen.
In St Andrew’s Way, near Debenhams, there will be a funky chill out lounge and a DJ playing tropical house from 4pm – 8pm adding a exotic summer soundtrack to the night. Near Giraffe in Grey’s Quarter students can soak up an acoustic set by Millie Eve Duo while nibbling on samples from intu Eldon Square’s hottest restaurants.
Streetwise, intu Eldon Square’s charity partner for 2018, will be on hand with fun games and information on the free health and well-being support services that the charity provides for young people in the north east.
Over £1,000 worth of prizes will also be hidden around the centre on the night ready for eagle-eyed students to claim their prize. Tickets to see Demi Lovato at Metro Radio Arena are up for grabs as well as 100 Millie’s Cookies, New Look vouchers, gift cards for restaurants plus many more.
Students can pre-register for the event at intu.co.uk/metrocentre and intu.co.uk/eldonsquare where students can also find a full list of offers available on the night.
