North East Connected

Hopping Across The North East From Hub To Hub

Families can Splash for No Cash this Summer

LOOKING for ways to keep the kids occupied and active during the holidays?

Middlesbrough Active Sport has just the answer – and it’s free!

During the school summer holidays, free swim vouchers will be available from community hubs and other community venues to use at the Neptune Centre.

The scheme – provided through a partnership of Middlesbrough Council and Everyone Active – aims get to get families more active over the summer holidays and encourage local people to make use of local facilities.

The vouchers enable adults and children to take part in the Swim 4 Everyone sessions at the Neptune Centre during the school summer holidays after registering and receiving a free Everyone Active Card.

The initiative is supported by Sport England’s Community Sport Activation Fund.

Councillor Lewis Young, Middlesbrough Council’s Executive Member for Economic Development and Infrastructure, said: “The free swimming vouchers provided by the Swim 4 Everyone programme is a great scheme, enabling more people than ever to enjoy a free dip, get active, and maybe take up a new hobby.

“Middlesbrough Council and our leisure provider, Everyone Active, are keen to promote physical activity and healthy living amongst Middlesbrough residents, and Swim 4 Everyone is just one way we are doing this.

“It’s also a great way to promote the Neptune Centre, which is a fantastic community facility right in the heart of East Middlesbrough.”
