POPCORN at the ready. A huge outdoor cinema screen is set to take over Chester-le-Street Cricket Club on Saturday, 24 September where two classic family movies will be shown in aid of St Cuthbert’s Hospice, Durham.

The Lion King and Grease will be screened in the fresh North East air. Fancy dress is being encouraged with prizes awarded for the best fancy dressed before each movie.

Tickets will be available to buy on the day.

Sheela Joy, Senior Community and Events Fundraiser, said: “This event is a first for us at the Hospice and we are very grateful for the support of Chester le Street

Councillors Lawson Armstrong; Tracie Smith, Keith Davidson, and Katherine Henig for part funding this event. I am a massive Disney fan myself so I can’t wait to see The Lion King on the big outdoor screen. Come along, grab some popcorn and settle down on the grass to watch either film or both. We hope that the great British weather is kind to us but are encouraging people to come prepared! ”

Food and drink will be available to purchase on the day, but film goers are welcome to bring along a picnic, a blanket to sit on or their own camping chairs.

An adult ticket costs £8 and a child’s ticket £6. Family tickets for 2 adults, 2 children cost £25. Prices are per screening. For further ticketing information visit www.stcuthbertshospice.com or contact the Development Team on 0191 368 1170 extension 5.
