A FAMILY fun day will be held alongside a consultation event around the next steps for the Big Local project in North Ormesby.
The event at North Ormesby Community Hub on Saturday, May 23, will include a climbing wall, circus skills, “Fire Brigade fun”, birds of prey display, a climbing wall, face painting and more.
In 2012, the east Middlesbrough area was selected by Big Local to be allocated £1m of funding over a ten-year period as part of a £200 million investment by the Big Lottery Fund.
The funding was set up to help 150 small urban and rural communities across England make their areas even better places to live and to enable local residents to identify the priorities that matter to them and take positive action.
The scheme is completely resident led, so it is up to local people to allocate the money to the things that matter to them, and projects and services that will have the biggest impact on the local community.
The fun day will run from 11am-2pm at the centre on Derwent Street and will also include bike stamping, refreshments and a tombola and raffle.
