Festive Celebrations At The Jolly Fisherman On The Quay

Providing the perfect setting for a Christmas meal with family, friends and colleagues alike, The Jolly Fisherman on the Quay is feeling festive with the addition of Christmas trees and decorations galore.

The restaurant can also welcome private parties, accommodating up to 300 guests in the downstairs bar area and 100 guests in the first floor restaurant.

Available from Monday 05 December through to early January, the restaurant’s three course Christmas dinner comprises dishes made using the best fresh seafood, game and locally sourced produce, and is priced at £28 per person. The bar’s general lunch menu will also still be available during this period.

With a selection of starters, mains and desserts to choose from, including Chicken Liver Parfait with homemade chutney and toasted Artisan bread, Roast Turkey Crown with stuffing and all the trimmings, and for something sweet, Candied Clementine Chocolate Pot with cardamom biscotti, diners won’t be short of festive flavours to choose from.

For those wanting to see in the New Year in style, party goers will be wined and dined in The Jolly Fisherman on the Quay’s first floor restaurant, with picture perfect views of the Quayside’s famous New Year’s Eve fireworks display, to the sounds of live music, with tickets priced at £70 per person. The bar area will also be open for those looking to soak up the party atmosphere, with no tickets required.

A flavoursome offering of dishes will be served up on the night, with three courses and a palette cleanser in-between each course, starting with a welcome glass of fizz. Options will include Pan-Fried Scallops and Slow Cooked Cod with Jerusalem artichoke and crispy chicken skin, Butter Poached Lobster with charred leek, celery and tarragon, and Walnut Tart with Jolly’s Whisky Crème Fraiche, followed by coffee and petit four.

David Whitehead, owner of The Jolly Fisherman on the Quay, said: “Since opening our doors for the first time in the summer I’m so pleased with the response we have received from diners and am very much looking forward to celebrating our first Christmas on Newcastle’s Quayside. Our head chef has worked hard to create an exciting menu packed with festive flavours showcasing the very best of local produce.

“Whether it’s the annual office Christmas party or a meal with friends to enjoy the festive season, we are looking forward to welcoming diners during this special time of year. Our New Year’s Eve celebration will also have quality food at the heart of it, along with an evening of musical entertainment and striking views of the River Tyne set to enhance the dining experience. We hope to continue our success into 2017 and look forward to our future as part of Newcastle’s dining scene.”
