Screen Shot 2015-10-22 at 09.32.33FIFTY food favourites are on offer to families at one of the Tyne Valley’s most popular pubs.

Chefs at The Runhead Bar and Grill, Holburn Lane, Ryton, have unveiled their new autumn menu, which pays homage to pub grub from different eras and countries.

The new menu offers around 50 dishes, ranging from starters and sharing platters to salads and sandwiches, along with a wide choice of traditional and contemporary main meals.

Diners can choose from British staples, such as gammon steak with fried egg or pineapple, steak and ale pie and bangers and mash, or opt for internationally-inspired dishes, such as chilli beef nachos, burgers and piri piri chicken wraps.

Those looking to celebrate Sundays in the traditional way, can now also enjoy a roast with all the trimmings, with the introduction of a carvery, at the recently refurbished venue.

The choice of meats includes roast topside of beef, gammon, turkey and roast lamb with a nut roast for vegetarians, accompanied by Yorkshire pudding, mashed and roast potatoes, stuffing, vegetables and gravy.

On selected nights of the week, The Runhead is also offering a dish of the day and a drink for a set price, with curry on Mondays, a Mexican dish on Tuesdays, steak on Wednesdays and a burger on Thursdays.

The venue’s children’s menu has also been re-worked and young diners can now enjoy dishes such as chicken goujons, fish fingers, lasagne and bangers and mash for just £3.95.
