AS PART of ongoing plans to rejuvenate Wellington Square, the Stockton-on-Tees shopping centre have installed a fun fitness trail in the centre to entertain shoppers and add a splash of colour to the mall.
With the demolition of Castlegate Shopping Centre and Swallow Hotel to make for a new urban park in the heart of Stockton Town Centre, the centre management team at Wellington Square want to provide shoppers with a vibrant destination for all the community to enjoy.
The fitness trail encourages children, big and small, to jump, hop, balance and spin around the centre square. But the fun doesn’t stop there, the floor designs also feature classics playground games including:
- What’s the time Mr Wolf
- Hop-scotch
- Maze
- Number snake
- Long jump
Chantal Taylor, Marketing Manager at Wellington Square, said “Our floor activities are designed to show children that keeping fit can be fun! It is really important to keep little ones active, especially during the school holidays when they aren’t having their regular PE lessons.”
“We want Wellington Square to be a destination for all the community to enjoy and create fun memories and we are excited for everyone to see all the additions to the centre over the coming months” added Chantal.
