Five star housebuilder gifts special Christmas presents to families supported by The Tiny Lives Trust in hospital

Local housebuilder, Barratt Homes North East, recently made a special visit to spread some festive joy, by bringing gifts to the siblings of patients who spent the festive season on the Neonatal Unit at Newcastle’s Royal Victoria Infirmary. The unit is supported by Barratt Homes North East’s charity of the year, The Tiny Lives Trust.

The Tiny Lives Trust works to help care for premature and sick newborn babies, their mothers and families on the Neonatal Unit at the Royal Victoria Infirmary in Newcastle. Established in 1983, the charity is consistently dedicated in its support, offering care packages for parents, family accommodation, travel costs and specialist training for staff.

Marketing Manager Samantha Swanston and Marketing Executive Charlotte O’Connor took time out of their schedules, and visited the ward to present over 50 gifts to the families, which were a selection of books, building blocks and activity packs – all designed to bring some festive cheer.

Samantha Swanston, Marketing Manager at Barratt North East, commented: “It was an absolute pleasure to come and see first-hand just what the fantastic work of The Tiny Lives Trust means to the families that it supports, and it was wonderful to bring some festive cheer to the ward. We hope that the siblings of the children on the ward enjoy their gifts, and it helps to make their festive season a little bit brighter as they spend their Christmas at the hospital.”

Louise Carroll, Community and Events Fundraiser at The Tiny Lives Trust: “We are so grateful for the generous donation of gifts from Barratt Homes North East. We appreciate the teams’ donations of their time and money so that we can support the babies on the ward and their families as much as possible, and some festive joy is just what the patients’ families needed at this time of year. We have worked with Barratt North East all year as part of their Charity of the Year programme, and are really looking forward to continuing our partnership in the future.”
