Hambleton District Council marked the beginning of celebrations for National Armed Forces Day by raising a special flag this week (Monday June 20).
They were joined by veterans, local cadets, civic dignitaries and forces personnel to see the armed forces day flag raised at the Civic Centre in Northallerton
Padre Sqdn Leader Richard Clements from RAF Leeming addressed the gathering and guests were treated to a flypast by four Hawks from 100 Squadron.
“Hambleton District Council is committed and proud to support the nations Armed Forces, veterans and cadets, especially those who continue to serve the community in such a professional and committed way,” said Chairman of Hambleton District Council, Councillor John Noone pictured with some of the veterans.
“It was a huge privilege to honour them by raising the flag especially in the Queens 90th year.”
