Screen Shot 2015-04-16 at 13.14.52Hotdogs, hamburgers, curry and more will help take guests ‘Back to the Future’ as part of a special charity event later this month.

1879 Events Management, the specialist catering subsidiary of SAFC, has created a unique 80s inspired menu for St Oswald’s Hospice‘s latest fundraiser, on Saturday April 25.

The event, being held at Benfield Motor Group’s new £7m Newcastle showroom will feature a Top Bun selection of Chris DeBurgher’s homemade burgers and pulled pork sliders, a Miami Rice mild chicken curry and Ferris Beuller’s stroganoff with beef or mushrooms.

Guests at the event, named after popular 80s film Back to the Future, which was set in 2015, will also enjoy Cushty Cocktails, black forest cream slices and Yuppie Puppy frozen daiquiris from 1879’s retro Slush Puppy machine.

Michael Laidler, Sales and Key Accounts Executive at 1879 Events Management, said:  “We’ve worked on a wide range of events over the past three years but this is certainly one of the most unique.  It’s a great opportunity for us to utilise our creativity in terms of catering and to support a cause as worthwhile as St Oswald’s Hospice.”

As well as the street food from 1879 Events Management, Back to the Future – St Oswald’s does the 1980’s will also include a themed-disco, special performances from Encore Dance Entertainment and a fundraising auction.

All proceeds from the event, being hosted by presenter and comedian Alfie Joey, will be used to fund the Newcastle-based charity’s wide range of support and services for adults, children and families coping with life-limiting conditions across the North East.

St Oswald’s Fundraiser, Laura Elliott said: “Back to the Future – St Oswald’s does the 1980’s is going to be a really fun and informal evening and we’re delighted that 1879 Events Management have really embraced the theme with their mouth-watering and aptly-named menu.”

Tickets for Back to the Future – St Oswald’s does the 1980’s, priced from £40 per person, are available at www.stoswaldsuk.org/backtothefuture or by calling Laura Elliott on 0191 246 9123.
