Hopping Across The North East From Hub To Hub

Debbie HoweResidents across County Durham are being invited to a free course that helps people to brush up on their online skills.

‘Time to get online‘ offers a training programme though a County Durham Housing Group, Dale & Valley Homes, Durham City Homes, East Durham Homes and Teesdale Housing Association partnership, and aims to raise awareness of the benefits of digital technology and show people that the internet is not as daunting as it may appear.

The next interactive session, on Tuesday, 19 July between 4pm and 6pm at East Durham Homes’ head office in Peterlee, will team attendees up with a designated ‘Digital Champion’, who will highlight the basics of the online world in an informal setting.

Debbie Howe, Digital Inclusion Project Co-ordinator, said: “By signing up participants will see the advantages the internet offers, including keeping in touch with friends and family, looking for a new job, saving money and much more.

“We want to show people that online technology is nothing to be afraid of and the benefits in all aspects of life are endless.”
