County Durham Housing Group is holding two free workshops to help local jobseekers improve their chances of finding work.
The sessions will take place:
- Wednesday, 1 June from 10am to 12.30pm at Gully House, Wingate
- Thursday, 9 June from 10am to 12.30pm at Woodhouse Close Children’s Centre, Bishop Auckland.
County Durham Housing Group’s Employment and Skills Officer, Claire Maddison, said: “Our free workshops will focus on helping people find out how and where to look for work.
“People may find it hard to break into a new sector and may not know where to start looking for jobs.
“We will help attendees to find ‘hidden’ jobs by looking at sector-specific websites, and identify local relevant agencies that can provide further help.
“Our courses are useful for people who are looking for a job or even a change of career, particularly if they’re unsure of how to get into a particular field of work.
“Anyone who wants to claim their free place at one of our workshops should email employability@cdhg.co.uk or call us on 0191 349 7657.”
County Durham Housing Group’s Employment and Skills Team provides support to tenants of Dale & Valley Homes, Durham City Homes and East Durham Homes to find a job, access training, gain apprenticeships and venture into self-employment.
