A free course covering the basics of health and safety in the workplace is being offered to County Durham residents.
The Health and Safety course, organised by County Durham Housing Group, is designed for anyone looking to boost their skills in the pursuit of a new, or improved, career.
Covering essentials such as the legal duties of the individual and employer in health and safety law, hazard recognition and accident prevention, the training will give the essential knowledge required in many roles.
No previous experience is necessary for the course, which takes place at Wheatbottom Communal Hub in Crook on Friday, 3 November from 9am to 4.30pm.
County Durham Housing Group Community Training Coordinator, Sean Robson, said: “Health and safety knowledge is something that lots of employers will look for when recruiting. Whether you’re already familiar with the basics of how to provide a safe working environment, or if this is an entirely new field for you, this course will provide lots of learning opportunities.
“The training will ensure you’re fully prepared to recognise hazards, and understand how to introduce control measures to ensure everyone’s safety.”
