HARRY POTTER fans can now secure their place at an exciting and free book event.

Due to the popularity of previous events, booking is essential for the Harry Potter Book Night, which takes place on Thursday 2 February at Stockton Central Library.

There is fun for all the family, including a fancy dress prize draw, face painting and animal encounters provided by Kirkleatham Owl Centre.

Sweets and treats and wand-making opportunities will also be available.

Councillor Norma Wilburn, Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council’s Cabinet member for Arts, Leisure and Culture, said: “We host all kinds of fun events and activities in our libraries and the phenomenal success of the Harry Potter books means this event in particular is always a huge success.

“Due to its sheer popularity we have had to make it a ticketed event so please make sure you book a place early to avoid disappointment as there is limited availability.

“This is a brilliant opportunity to have some fun and enjoy the wonderful world of Harry Potter.”

The night starts with an autism-friendly session taking place from 4pm until 5pm – this session is for visitors with an Autism Spectrum Condition. All children must be accompanied by an adult and doors will open early to ease arrival.

General admission is from 5pm until 7pm and free tickets for the event are available from www.hpbnstocktonlibraries.eventbrite.co.uk
