Galliford Try to build 360 NE homes

Regeneration specialist Galliford Try Partnerships has signed a deal with Homes England which will see it build 360 homes in Redcar.

The partnership will deliver 360 new homes – including a number for affordable housing – on land to the west of Kirkleatham Lane and the north of the Police Station. The site his earmarked for housing in the local plan and has outline planning permission.

Sean Egan, Managing Director for Galliford Try Partnerships North, said: “We are delighted to be working in partnership with Homes England to accelerate the delivery of much-needed new homes in Redcar.

“We share Homes England’s ambition to help more people access better homes in the right places. With a proven track record of delivery, we look forward to playing our part in making this a reality for communities in Redcar and beyond.”

Galliford Try Partnerships will begin work on the project in 2019 with a start on site due in 2020 with completion expected in 2026.

Homes England is the government’s housing accelerator. It aims to increase the number and speed of new homes being built across England including affordable homes and homes for market, sale or rent.

In addition to the Redcar scheme, Galliford Try Partnerships will also build 334 homes in Runcorn, 116 in Cannock and 60 in Dorset on land acquired from Homes England.

It is also working on more than 70 projects across the UK with a wide range of long-term partners including local authorities and registered social housing providers.
