Hopping Across The North East From Hub To Hub

Great Exhibition of the North: Taste the best from the region and beyond at Fenwick this July

AS PART of a series of events celebrating Great Exhibition of the North, Fenwick Newcastle is hosting its very first Night Market where North East foodies will be able to taste the very best of the region and beyond.

Taking place within its renowned Food Hall on Friday 13 and Saturday 14 July, 6pm-10pm, an eclectic mix of street food stalls and pop-up bars will serve up dishes and drinks from around the world. With late night opening until 10pm in the Food Hall and restaurants, customers will have the opportunity to relax and enjoy delicacies from acclaimed local producers as well as treats from worldwide destinations.

Visitors to the Night Market can fuel up on tapas, pizzettes and croquetas from Spanish-inspired restaurant Fuego or try new flavours at the Rafi’s Spicebox curry station. Sweet toothed guests can indulge French-style with the pop-up éclair bar in Mason + Rye bakery-patisserie-café.

Local and northern produce will also star in the Night Market with the likes of The Lakes Distillery pop-up gin bar, crispy Lindisfarne oysters from Fenwick’s own Saltwater Fish Company and Newcastle-baked doughnuts by Proven Goods Co. all on offer.

Other highlights include ground steak sliders, hand-raised pork pies and Scotch eggs from Porterhouse Butcher and Grill, a dedicated chocolate and macaron counter and espresso martinis from Ouseburn Coffee Company.

While enjoying the feast attendees will be treated to live music throughout the evening. Specially selected performers, including an acoustic duo and a DJ, will create a lively atmosphere to get customers in the summer spirit.

Rhys McKinnell, Director of Restaurants at Fenwick said: “We’ve curated a fantastic selection of food and drink from passionate producers, top chefs and artisan craftspeople for this one-off event in celebration of The Great Exhibition of the North, which we’re incredibly excited to present.

“Ticketholders can expect everything from summer barbecue staples such as British-reared meat to the nation’s favourite fizz to be the order of the day.”
