Great Northumberland 2018 is an eight-week extravaganza of family-friendly events, exhibitions and activities, what’s more at the recent Northumberland County Show organisers lined up competitions with lucky entrants vying to win everything from overnight stays to luxury hampers.

“A big part of what Great Northumberland is about is showcasing our hotels, restaurants and produce alongside our wonderful arts, cultural and heritage venues,” says Cllr Peter Jackson, Leader of Northumberland County Council, “that’s why at the County Show, we partnered with Northumberland-based businesses to run an exciting, one-off competition.”

Big winners from the County Show competition include:

Martyn Johnson (from Prudhoe) who bags an overnight stay for two people at luxurious Matfen Hall;

Donna Howarth (from South Tyneside) who wins a family pass to Whitehouse Farm;

David Cowan (from Morpeth) who wins a Produced in Northumberland hamper.

The chances to win don’t stop there, members of the public can also join the Great Northumberland Member’s Club, which will give away at least one prize every week until 1 September – including a range of theatre and concert tickets from Queen’s Hall Arts to Alnwick Castle, National Trust holidays, overnight stays at The Sill plus cinema trips, stargazing experiences and festival tickets.
