Hartlepool United: Russ Green

Hartlepool_United_FCThe Club can confirm that Russ Green has stepped down from his position as Chief Executive.

Russ began work at Victoria Park in May 2002, originally arriving as Commercial Manager before being appointed as Chief Executive five years later.

He oversaw some major successes during his time at the Club and played a key role in bringing current owners JPNG to The Vic last summer when IOR handed over control.

Earlier this year, Russ embarked on an incredible charity challenge for Prostate Cancer UK when he and friend Jeff Stelling raised over £300,000 by walking 252 miles from The Vic to Wembley.

His work at Pools saw him gain national recognition when he was named as Chief Executive of the Year in both 2014 and 2015.

“After 14 years of service Russ has earned the right to put himself first,” commented Chairman Gary Coxall.

“He will always be welcome at The Vic and I’m sure we’ll see him at many games because he has an enormous passion for this Football Club.

“I would like to thank Russ for all his effort and commitment over the years, in particular over the last twelve months during which he has helped JPNG settle in as owners.

“I want to re-assure all supporters that this development won’t affect our plans to drive the Club forward and everyone behind the scenes is working hard to make sure 2016/17 is an exciting season.”
