Hopping Across The North East From Hub To Hub

Hatching Plans for Half Term

Screen Shot 2015-04-01 at 16.26.25One of the North East’s top family restaurants is hatching plans for a cracking half term.

The Beach House bistro, Roker, will be hosting free activities for all ages throughout the school holidays, starting with themed arts and crafts on Good Friday (April 3).

Young visitors will have the opportunity to take part in various colouring and drawing competitions throughout the afternoon, with the results being showcased on the venue’s Facebook page.

Then, on Thursday April 9, SAFC legends Kevin Ball and Jimmy Montgomery will host an Easter Extravaganza, including beach football and an egg decorating competition from noon until 3pm.

Visitors are being asked to bring their own, decorated eggs, which will be displayed in the venue’s ice cream parlour.

There will also be a chance to see SAFC mascots Samson and Delilah take on Sun FM’s Sunny the Seagull in a special egg and spoon race at 1.30pm.

Budding detectives will get the chance to flex their investigative muscles the following week, with a Tremendous Treasure Hunt on Thursday April 16.

Clues will be scattered around Roker Beach, with the trail eventually leading back to The Beach House, where participants will be in the running for a host of top prizes.

As well as hosting these special events, The Beach House bistro will also open daily from 10am until 4pm weekdays and 10am until 5pm at weekends, throughout the half term holidays, serving a range of family-friendly dishes to eat in or takeaway.

Gary Hutchinson, Director at 1879 Events Management, which operates the Beach House, said: “The Beach House was bustling during the last school holidays and this time we’re offering more free activities than ever before.

“We hope this will allow families the opportunity to spend some quality time together, without worrying about the cost.”
