Drop-in events dedicated to encouraging more people to consider and enrol onto Higher Education (HE) courses at Northumberland College are being held at Ashington and Kirkley Hall campuses, the first being Tuesday 13 November 2018.

More than 30 programmes are on offer including Art and Design, Business, Science, Land & Environment, Health, Childcare, Policing as well as Access to Higher Education at HNC, HND, Foundation Degree and Level 6 top-ups. Students with Level 3 qualifications including A level, Diploma, Technical or those considering a career change or progression, are invited to attend.

The open events are being held from 4:30pm-7pm at the College’s STEM centre (Ashington campus) and the Kielder Building (Kirkley Hall) and no appointment is necessary. Teaching staff and student support advisors will be on hand to guide those interested through the enrolment process and discuss matters including travel, well-being and pastoral care.

All Foundation Degrees are validated by leading universities and are delivered by a highly-skilled team of academics, many with vast commercial experience at senior management level. The College’s HE provision has also been awarded top honours by the Quality Assurance Agency and silver standard by the Teaching Excellence and Student Outcomes Framework (TEF).

Jo Cooper of Northumberland College commented “Northumberland College offers a vast array of HE courses, many of which are unique in terms of land and environment-based subjects, so we are able to accommodate many different areas of interest. We offer the courses at various times which suit different students’ needs, and that’s great for those wanting to fit their education around work or childcare commitments.

“Our advisors are available all year round to discuss any queries, however after this first open event, we’re planning another in January 2019. This will give our students regular opportunities to come along, see our facilities, obtain the very best advice, enrol and gain university-endorsed qualifications in a College environment.”

The first Higher Education open event is taking place at Northumberland College’s Ashington and Kirkley Hall campuses on Tuesday 13 November from 4:30pm-7pm. For more details on HE courses available, please t: 01670 841200 or go to www.northumberland.ac.uk
