Expert guidance on issues as diverse as housing, energy bills, and skills is being offered at a free advice day in Bishop Auckland.
The event, on Friday, 20 October between 10am and 3pm at Auckland Youth and Community Centre, is the latest in a seven week long programme of advice days right across County Durham.
The programme has been developed by number of service providers in the county including Monkey, Advice in County Durham, Durham County Council and housing associations County Durham Housing Group, Karbon Homes and livin.
The collaboration aims to bring together a huge variety of advice providers under one roof. Experts who can give face-to-face advice on matters such as Universal Credit and other welfare benefits issues, health, debt, housing, energy bills and employment will be on hand throughout the event.
Dawn Patterson, Tenancy Sustainment Team Leader at County Durham Housing Group, said: “Sometimes when we have problems in our lives, we’re not quite sure where to turn. These advice days are intended to solve that problem by bringing together so many different experts in one place.
“I’m confident we’ll be able to help pretty much anyone who walks through the door. If we don’t have the right information there and then, we’ll definitely be able to point residents in the right direction and arrange appointments.”
