A division of the North East based Fastflow group is turning up the heat in the property maintenance sector with a £20 million four year framework agreement to support one of the UK’s leading housing associations – Genesis.
Around 100,000 people live in 33,000 Genesis homes across London and the east of England. And the contract could increase in value, as it allows other housing providers to procure the same services without the need for further tendering.
DW Support Services (DWSS) was acquired by the Washington headquartered Fastflow Group in 2014 as it widened its service portfolio to include the property sector. Formed 25 years ago this month, Fastflow is already a leading service provider to the utilities industries.
Its Pipeline Services Division – also Washington based – provides water management across networks in North East England and Scotland, supplying almost three million customers. The Energy Services Division – in Warrington – delivers specialist diversion, repair and maintenance projects on the UK high pressure gas transmission networks.
The new deal for DWSS – operating from Thame in Oxfordshire – will significantly boost the group’s turnover, which this year looks set to exceed £70 million.
The contract involves the maintenance of existing plant rooms and heating systems and supplying new, combined heat and power gas fired boiler systems, renewable heating and smart metering installations. It serves the entire Genesis property portfolio across the South East of the UK.
DWSS will be supported by Luton based Enerza Solutions, a specialist in modern district heating, metering, control and billing systems – secures up to 40 jobs and will create new training and employment opportunities.
Said DWSS Managing Director, Colin McMahon: “We are delighted to broaden our range of services with Genesis in line with our strategy to provide integrated support to our customers. We look forward to providing high levels of service, the best possible value and impressing those who matter most – residents in the association’s homes.
“Our aim is to improve the efficiency and reliability of the heating systems through the installation of cutting edge, yet tried and tested technology. This in turn should bring long term improvement to our clients’ communities.”
Chief Executive Officer of Enerza, Shahid Mirza, added: “We are delighted to partner with DWSS, combining the expertise of both companies to increase the efficiency of Genesis property assets. We also look forward to utilising a range of technologies to further enhance the Genesis portfolio.”
