Hopping Across The North East From Hub To Hub

Help Digitise Middlesbrough Libraries’ Future

MIDDLESBROUGH’S libraries are looking for some helping hands to move their collections into the digital age.

The town’s Library Service is appealing for volunteers to take part in an exciting digitisation project to preserve its photographs and documents.

Images will then be uploaded to a new interactive website that will reflect Middlesbrough’s social history.

The project will be based in Middlesbrough Reference Library and will be an ideal volunteering opportunity for people with basic IT skills and an interest in local history.

Full training will be given in scanning photographs and documents as well as reformatting and uploading images.

  • Find out more at an information session at the Reference Library on Monday, August 21, Tuesday, August 22 or Thursday, August 24 from 2pm to 3pm or contact Ruth Cull on 01642 729409 or email ruth_cull@middlesbrough.gov.uk
