BUSINESS owners in Hexham will have the chance to come together in an inaugural networking event later this month (September).

Hexham Business Improvement District (BID) has set up a new digital networking scheme to help firms in the town boost their digital presence and share their online experiences.

The initiative will also include monthly networking sessions, the first of which will be held on Friday 29 September at Café Enna, Tyne Green.

The #LoveHexham events have been designed to give levy paying business owners the chance to get together on a regular basis in an informal environment to discuss ways of promoting the town in a bid to attract more visitors and tourists.

Businesses will be able to learn from each other as well as receive training in areas like marketing, digital marketing and idea generation, tailored to particular business needs.

The training is being delivered by North East digital training and mentoring agency, Digital Sparkles, and the first meeting will be a chance for business owners to identify specific training needs.

Helen Grayshan, manager at Hexham BID, is encouraging as many business people as possible to head along to the event.

“The idea behind the #LoveHexham networking group sessions is to bring business owners together for the benefit of the town as a whole,” she said. “The goal is to help attract new business and visitors.

“We are keen to hear what elements of training our traders would like us to help provide so we can help them gain new skills. We want to be able to support each and every business as best we can, and our networking sessions will be the perfect platform.”

The #LoveHexham sessions will be held on the last Friday of every month at a number of different venues across the town.

The first will be held from 8-10am on Friday 29 December at Café Enna, Tyne Green. There is also a digital Facebook group open to business owners in the town, which can be found at www.facebook.com/groups/141935933062833/
