You don’t need to be an athlete to train like one in 2019 thanks to F.I.T.; a unique new gym which has launched in Newcastle upon Tyne.

F.I.T., which stands for functional, intelligent training, is more than just a gym. It is an entirely new fitness concept that creates a motivating environment in which to train and develop your fitness. At this new strength and conditioning venue, you’ll find services that are exclusive to any private sporting facility in the north; services that not only build strength and functional fitness but also address member’s health from a smarter perspective.

The brand-new facility, located a stone’s throw from Regent Centre Metro Station in Gosforth, boasts the longest indoor running track in the north and gives clients access to world-class technical gym aids, including those used by Team GB and other global sporting institutions. By combining intelligent technology, scientific training methods and highly-qualified coaches, F.I.T. is able to allow clients to monitor and enhance their performance in a completely new way.

At the new £100k site, clients are able to take advantage of nine dedicated lifting platforms, an extensive free weight suite, core and mobility specific zones, yoga, pilates and F.I.T classes which take place seven days a week.

Head Coach and owner of F.I.T, Teleri Hamilton said, “At F.I.T. we offer our clients a smarter way to train, including our unique, in-depth fitness assessments and bespoke training plans to ensure that everyone gets the most out of their training, whatever their current fitness level and goals.

“At F.I.T. we want to throw a bigger net around typical gym members, someone who is already in shape and confident with their fitness regime, and offer world class training to everyone in the region. As well as providing training and support for current and future athletes, we want to provide a welcoming, accessible venue for people who might be taking the first steps on their fitness journey to make them feel confident and inspired to succeed.”

Unlike other gyms which offer quick fixes, Teleri and her team of degree qualified strength and conditioning coaches focus on personalised fitness plans. The facility offers three services, F.I.T Bespoke, F.I.T Group and F.I.T Champions, each tailored to best fit with their clients current fitness levels and individual needs.

Teleri continued, “We are passionate about empowering future generations through movement and exercise by working with local schools, youth organisations and parents.  Aimed at all junior levels and abilities, our F.I.T. Champions programmes are specifically designed to help young people progress in their chosen sport.  This a very popular programme and we are proud to have already seen significant results, some have already won national and international recognition as well as helping make the transition to professional sport.”

Leading private physiotherapists Achilles Physio are also based onsite to provide qualified on-site physiotherapy support.

Carl Bell, practice manager at Achilles Physio said, “We use state of the art technology to offer full rehabilitation, regardless of age or condition. We are now the only private facility in the north to offer clients use of this new emerging technology including Gait Scan digital analysis machines, wearable MBody technology and Shockwave therapy.

F.I.T. is located at Eldon House, East Regent Centre, Regent Farm Road, Gosforth, Newcastle upon Tyne NE3 3PW. Visit www.fitnorth.co.uk to book or enquire about membership today.
