Hopping Across The North East From Hub To Hub

Hip, Hop, Hooray, Easter is on Its Way to Preston Park Museum

HIP HOP hooray, Easter is on its way… and Preston Park has a cracking weekend planned to celebrate!

Start your day by decorating an Easter Bonnet – from flowers to pirates the sky is the limit! Then show off your beautiful creation in a traditional Easter Parade through the Victorian Street (Saturday 26 to Easter Monday 28 March, 10am to 3pm). The Easter bunny has lost his eggs somewhere in the museum, can you help him find them? (Every day throughout the Easter holidays, 10am to 4pm).

Pull on your wellies and have a go at traditional potato planting in the Walled Kitchen Garden. The National Vegetable Society will also be on hand to answer all your gardening queries. For mini diggers there’s a chance to make a DIY plant pot and start your own Victorian Kitchen Garden at home (Good Friday 25 to Easter Monday 28 March, 10am to 3.30pm).

Time for a bite to eat! Try tasty Hot Cross Buns with Warburtons (Saturday 26 March, 11.30am to 3.30pm) and discover how to make cream eggs with the ‘Three Boys Bake Shop’ (Easter Sunday 27 March, 10am to 3.30pm).

After lunch, step into the museum’s Billiard Room to discover an eggs-quisite eggshibition of eggs. View hundreds of egg shaped sculptures designed by local schools and community group (from now until Sunday 10 April, 10am to 4pm). If you are feeling inspired, there will be a chance to decorate your own traditional Polish Pisanka Egg in our craft workshop (Good Friday 25 March, 10am to 12pm and 1 to 3pm).

All activities are free with entry to the museum (Family £5, Adult £2.50, Concession/Child £1.50 and your ticket is valid for a year).

There will be family activities taking place every day throughout the holidays, visit www.prestonparkmuseum.co.ukfor dates and times.
