Rudby Hall, in Hutton Rudby near Stokesley, will hold its first wedding showcases in January.
The award-winning former royal residence opened in September 2014 and has already hosted over 50 weddings with more brides and grooms now keen to visit the hall and view its facilities. However, managers at Rudby Hall are unable to accommodate the number of private viewings currently being requested.
As a result, the hall will open its gates for the very first time for two wedding showcases on January 9th and January 23rd between 10am and 2pm.
Owners, Martin and Sandra Johnson, will be on hand to show people around the various rooms- including the Drawing Rom, Ceremony Room and Entrance Hall- and suites, such as the grand bridal suite with its original ornate features and its own private balcony looking south across the grounds to the river and the Cleveland hills. In addition, other members of the Rudby Hall team and hand-picked suppliers including CWC Catering, First Class Wedding Company and Last Anthem will also be at the wedding showcases.
The country hall which is Grade II*-listed- putting it in the top 7% of all listed properties in the UK- dates back to the 19thcentury and was a former Royal residence built for King William IV’s daughter, Lady Amelia Cary. The grand 19th Century Georgian hall is set in 10 acres of grounds with sprawling lawns reaching the River Leven.
Rudby Hall boasts a range of reception rooms, vast grounds, various lounges with traditional open fires, a cosy bar and 13 suites featuring luxury facilities such as high speed broadband, wi-fi and flat screen TVs.
Sandra Johnson, who runs the hall with her husband Martin, said: “Weddings at Rudby Hall are a very private affair with brides and grooms guaranteed the whole hall exclusively for their wedding from the night before to the morning after. We are thrilled to have already held over 50 weddings in our opening year and we are now getting dozens of enquiries every week. We know that these will peak in January, following the festive season when many people get engaged, so we decided to hold our very first wedding showcases.
“These will give people the chance to have a look around, see what we offer, how we operate and meet the team who could look after them including caterers, florists, bands, musicians and chauffeurs.”
This summer, Rudby Hall received global recognition for its consistently high standards as it was named as a TripAdvisor Service Excellence Winner for 2015. The award celebrates excellence in hospitality and is given only to establishments that consistently achieve impressive reviews. The award itself is based on the reviews provided by guests giving top ratings for service standards.
Rudby Hall works with all local suppliers including Howard’s in Stokesley, The Bay Horse in Hutton Rudby, CWC Events, First Class Wedding Company, Darling and Green Florists and Stokesley Taxis.
Husband and wife team Martin and Sandra Johnson run the hall and themselves live on site with their family. Rudby Hall, restored by Teesside based regeneration specialists Python Properties, has hosted a range of dignitaries over the years, such as MPs, Prime Ministers and members of the Royal family. The historic home hit the headlines last year when Liam Gallagher and his partner, Debbie Gwyther, were among the first to stay whilst attending a wedding in the area.
