HospiceCare North Northumberland Chosen as Charity Partner for Alnwick Concerts

HospiceCare North Northumberland is to benefit from the Summer House Sounds series of concerts at Alnwick Castle.

The local independent palliative care service has been selected as the charity partner for the four headline concerts taking place at Alnwick which will see performances from super cool disco king Nile Rodgers and his band CHIC, music legend Tom Jones, British pop icons Madness, and the world’s most successful classical crossover group Il Divo over four nights of live music in July.

The Alnwick Castle Summer House Sounds series is:

  • 11 July – Nile Rodgers & CHIC
  • 13 July – Tom Jones
  • 14 July – Madness
  • 15 July – Il Divo

Tickets to all Summer House Sounds concerts are available from www.ticketmaster.co.uk/summerhousesounds/

HospiceCare delivers free Hospice at Home services and support for adults, along with their families and carers, living in North Northumberland who have life-limiting illnesses and who wish to be in their own homes at end of life, rather than a hospital setting.

Volunteers and staff will attend all the Alnwick Castle concerts.

Marketing and Communications Officer Julie Frost said: “We’re really excited that HospiceCare has been chosen as charity partner for Summer House Sounds at Alnwick Castle.

“This not only gives us a wonderful opportunity to fundraise, but also enables us to promote the charity to a much wider audience and hopefully increase our support.

“On average HospiceCare provides end of life care to about 100 people every year, plus their families and carers, and all who are important to them. This represents around 9,000 hours of Hospice at Home care and support and we need to raise around £660,000 every year to continue to deliver this vital service.

“So, every penny raised over this special weekend will contribute towards the delivery of our nursing services.”

Summer House Sounds is presented by live music promoters Cuffe and Taylor.

Director Peter Taylor said: “We are delighted to be welcoming HospiceCare as the charity partner for the Summer House Sounds concerts at Alnwick Castle.

“It is important for us to reach out to local communities as much as possible when we are travelling the length and breadth of the UK to put on live events.

“This series of concerts set against the stunning backdrop of Alnwick are going to be stunning and we hope HospiceCare benefit from being involved.”
