Housing Group reminds Employees to Drink Up

Screen Shot 2015-07-21 at 14.04.16County Durham Housing Group is reminding its workforce of the importance of keeping hydrated this summer.

The group’s repairs and maintenance service, who carry our home improvements and gas services to more than 10,000 properties in the city centre and the west of Durham, are guzzling a lot more during the warmer climes.

Glenn Carr, Joiner, said: “We can be up and down ladders one minute, and lifting heavy materials the next, so it really can be thirsty work.”

To encourage employees to get a lot more of the wet stuff, the group has provided water bottles for workers to carry around with them from job to job.

Neil Quigley, Health and Safety Officer at County Durham Housing Group, said: “Although the weather seems to have cooled down in the last couple of weeks, it’s still important that our employees and tenants keep hydrated.

“National guidelines state that we should all try to drink around eight glasses of water a day to prevent dehydration, aid digestion and keep us fit and healthy.”
