One of the region’s largest social housing providers is on the lookout for new members of the committee that oversees how it looks after its customers.
County Durham Housing Group, which manages over 18,000 homes stretching from rural Weardale to the Durham coast, is searching for four new additions to its Operations Committee.
The committee oversees the performance and delivery of the group’s housing, customer service, property services and customer-facing functions. It is made up of independent members, councillors and tenants of the group.
There are currently vacancies for two independent members and two tenants on the Operations Committee, which meets regularly. The tenant members should represent the east of the county, Durham city and its surrounding area. The committee is particularly keen to welcome members who have experience of working with customers and the community, delivering services, and working within a regulated environment.
County Durham Housing Group Head of Business Assurance and Group Secretary, Andrew Traynor, said: “We’re looking for people who can make a real contribution, not just to the running of the organisation, but to the wellbeing of our tenants too.
“The Operations Committee plays a vital role in scrutinising the way the group delivers services and looks after our customers. These positions offer the opportunity to actively shape the future of social housing right across County Durham.”
The group is also searching for new members of its VOCAL customer panel. There are seven positions available on the recently created panel, which helps to shape the direction and quality of the group while focusing on the needs of customers.
Applications for the roles are open until 12 noon on Friday, 17 November. Interviews will take place in late November. More information is available by emailing governance@cdhg.co.uk or calling 0191 349 7688.
