Want to give your home a vibrant facelift but not sure where to start? We’re here to help! There are plenty of easy ways to add colour to your interior – all of which will make your space feel much more happy and joyful. Here are three simple ways to make your home more colourful:

Create a feature wall

If you want to give a room the wow factor, then why not create a beautiful feature wall? Choose a vibrant colour and paint one single wall, leaving all other walls neutral. This will create a focal point in your room and bring just enough colour without dominating the space. The key to selecting the right wall to be your ‘feature’ is to choose the one that your eye is instantly attracted to when you enter the space. For example, it may be a wall with a fireplace, or the main wall where the TV hangs. Remember if you’re painting to stock up on essentials like rollers, brushes and trays, as well as gloves to protect your skin.

Use chic interior accessories

Do you want to introduce colour in a more subtle way? Then you may like to add lots of brightly coloured interior accessories to your space. There are plenty of beautiful items you could use, like cushions, vases, throws and candles. You can also update your room with a colourful new lampshade, vibrant piece or artwork or statement clock that really stands out against neutral walls or furniture. If you’re keen to keep it contemporary, pick a single colour palette for the room and stick to items in those tones. For example, yellow pairs well with grey, or greens go nicely with warm neutrals.

Opt for bright and bold furniture

Another great way to add colour to your home is through furniture. Think deep blue sofas, bright yellow office chairs and statement green drawers that truly make a statement. This is an easy way to start building an interior look as you can begin with your statement piece of furniture and build the rest of the room from there. You can make bright furniture pop by sitting pieces against a neutral-coloured wall, or even a dark grey or black wall for a more dramatic look. Have some fun shopping for pieces that bring you joy every time you look at them. After all, who says your furniture has to be boring?

If you need a little inspiration to get started with your colourful makeover, apps like Pinterest and Instagram are a great place to start – as they’re packed full of ideas. However, you decide to decorate, it’s sure to bring happiness to your home!
