Julie Cole, HR Manager, is celebrating 20 years’ service working at Analox, based on Stokesley Business Park.
Julie joined the company in 1996 as an Office Junior in Operations, after studying Business Administration at college.
Initially she was surprised she stayed there passed day one, due to heavy snow causing disruptions to her journey to and from work.
At the time Julie couldn’t drive so she travelled by bus to her workplace, which meant walking in the snow to catch it.
To make matters worse, at the end of the day she had to wait two hours in the freezing cold for a bus to turn up and take her home.
Luckily she persisted with the bus travel until she passed her driving test and got a car, and she’s still at Analox today.
In the early part of her career, Julie moved to the role of Operations Coordinator and then in 2010 she progressed to the position of HR Coordinator.
Julie demonstrated her ongoing commitment to personal development by gaining professional qualifications from the CIPD (Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development). This led to her taking up her current position as HR Manager is 2011.
Julie is part of the Central Services team and she works closely with senior management in both the UK and US. She is responsible for human resources planning, employment relations, resourcing and recruitment and training. Her role includes her sourcing and developing personnel, coordinating organisational change, establishing and maintaining good people management practice across the company.
Since becoming HR Manager, Julie has launched a bespoke jobs and human resources website to give people an insight into how Analox works and understand the career development potential within the company.
Julie is also part of a motivational team which is made up of senior and middle management, and they meet on a monthly basis. The team discuss ways of improving the wellbeing and engagement of employees and the team has pioneered several initiatives for staff including charity volunteer days, a walking challenge, and celebrating company and individual success with rewards.
Julie said: “Since joining 20 years ago I have seen the development of Analox and the positive growth of the company. Thanks to the support of my former manager I was encouraged to develop my career and undertake training to gain some further qualifications. This saw me transition from working in Operations to HR.
“I really enjoy my current role because it is varied and I experience something new every day. I’m a people person who likes helping others so it was a great opportunity. I’ve formed some good friendships at Analox, and everyone here is like family to me.”
