Summerbridge, a leading UK manufacturer of doors and cabinets for kitchens, bedrooms and bathrooms, based in Hull, has this week donated £600 to local charities, Dove House Hospice and Hull NICU Baby Unit Fund, as part of a CSR initiative by the company.
Dove House Hospice, also based in Hull, provides care for people at the end of their lives, as well as therapies to help people with life-limiting illnesses improve their quality of life, and bereavement support to grieving families.
As part of its ongoing CSR programme, Summerbridge has run internal initiatives over recent weeks, including a sponsored Christmas jumper day, to help raise funds for the important work Dove House Hospice does, and has this week presented the charity with a cheque for £300.
Summerbridge’s initiative also raised an additional £300 for the Hull NICU Baby Unit Fund, which will help to support the provision of equipment for the babies, improving parent facilities and staff training.
Jethro Shearring, from Dove House Hospice, said: “We are incredibly grateful for the amazing efforts of the staff at Summerbridge, who helped to raise an amazing £300 in support of the hospice. The thoughtful contributions of individuals, community groups, and organisations such as Summerbridge, has a crucial impact on the care given at Dove House.
“The support of the staff will help to make a truly special difference to our patients and their loved ones. Fundraising such as this will help to ensure that all those in our care can continue to receive the specialist care that can help to provide some light in even the darkest of times.”
Mark Newton, Sales Director at Summerbridge, adds: “We’re so pleased to donate this money to such worthy causes. Dove House Hospice and the Hull NICU Baby Unit Fund both make a real difference to people in our region, and we felt it was only right that we give back and support our local community.”
