Ilk launches book showcasing an alternative political manifesto for the Brexit / Trump era

Award winning integrated agency, ilk, has announced it is working with E. P. Anthony to launch a new political novel, The Holistic Manifesto. The Leeds based agency designed the cover of the book, and will work with the author on PR and social around the launch at a time when controversy is at the forefront of UK and US politics.

The book, which is launching this month, sees Anthony analyse today’s political economy of inequality and the decline in centre-left parties in the developed world. Through examining the causes, the author seeks to provide politically feasible policy solutions for today’s society. Emphasising these practical insights – including how we can prevent another global financial crisis, whilst stimulating economic productivity and growth – Anthony stresses that the current situation is neither hopeless, nor does it require such extreme solutions.

In reaction to the brief, ilk looked to deliver a cover design that encompassed the problems of political inequality through moral and philosophical lenses. Utilising an iconic, yet contemporary design – encompassing bold block colour, reminiscent of 1940’s propaganda artwork, ilk’s visual is designed use modern icons but with a link to traditional left wing policies. ilk is also delivering PR and social support, including distributing the publication to key media and encouraging reviews, drafting blogs and commentary pieces, as well as press releases.

Anthony commented: “The book attempts to make some complex economic and political writing on the problem of inequality accessible to the non-specialist, and offers feasible policy solutions to the problem. I wanted to work with an integrated agency that truly understood the message behind the book and positioned it in the right way.
