It’s what waterpark fans have been waiting for – the first glimpse of the complete layout of the UK’s first Alpamare waterpark!
The official map of Alpamare Scarborough, the £14 million waterpark that will open next month on the Yorkshire coast, has been made public for the first time. Developed by Marek Jagucki Cartoons in cooperation with Bloom advertising agency, it has been created in a bright, illustrative style, complete with signposting to all the different parts of the attraction.
The map will allow potential visitors to the waterpark to get a real flavour of what thrilling rides and first class experiences await them, including giant indoor wave pool, four alpine themed adrenaline inducing slides, outdoor family pool and indulgent iodine infinity pool – both heated to 35°c, terrace overlooking Scarborough’s stunning coastline, landscaped gardens with sunbeds, poolbar and restaurant.
The map will be used to full advantage throughout Alpamare’s online and printed promotional material including the main information leaflet for the waterpark, which will be distributed widely across Yorkshire and beyond to raise awareness of Alpamare’s first ever coastal attraction.
Dr Anton Hoefter, Alpamare Chief Executive Officer said:
“We’re delighted with our new map, which we will be using to create excitement locally and throughout the region ahead of our opening next month. To date, people have only been able to see pictures of a construction site or architects drawings, so we’re hoping that this map will allow people to truly see what a wonderful world class attraction we have created here on the Yorkshire coast.
“We are currently finalising our website in anticipation of a launch later this month, which will feature an interactive version of the map, alongside all the crucial information waterpark fans will need to help them plan a visit to Alpamare Scarborough.”

Representing an investment of around £14 million, Alpamare Waterpark Scarborough, which is being constructed above the stunning coastline of the town’s North Bay, is expected to attract up to half a million visitors a year. The waterpark will be Alpamare’s first ever coastal attraction and its first in the UK.
The alpine themed water park will feature four thrilling water rides on a par with those found at premier water parks in Dubai and Florida, offering up to 2,500 rides per hour. The slides, all different, will be up to 120 metres long and will cater for four-person inflatables, double inflatables and racing mats. 35,000 litres of water per minute will be pumped through the slides, which are being built to optimise fun, to ensure a thrilling ride experience. All the slides have been named based on an alpine skiing theme and have been constructed by internationally renowned water slide manufacturer and water park planner, ProSlide.
The ‘Black Run’ will be the steepest and fastest slide with a drop of 11 metres for guaranteed thrills. The ‘Cresta Run’ will be based on the world famous Cresta run in St Moritz, which will see riders propelled down the equivalent of a black ski run, head first, on a racing mat. At more than 116 metres long, the family friendly ‘Olympic Run’ will be the longest of the four slides for a guaranteed fun filled shared ride on a double inflatable. Signature ride ‘Snow storm’ will be a must for an adrenalin fuelled group experience. Pumping 20,900 litres of water per minute, four person inflatables will hurtle riders down more than 14 metres of twists and turns.
The attraction will also boast 480sqm indoor wave pool, *luxury spa suite for the ultimate in spa experiences, 200sqm outdoor family pool, 170sqm outdoor iodine infinity pool – a pool heated to 35°c with massage jets to help enhance health and well-being, restaurant, pool bar, terrace and landscaped gardens with sunbeds.
*Opening early 2017.
