North East Connected

Hopping Across The North East From Hub To Hub

CaptureThe rapidly expanding px group has appointed Mark Kenrick as Director of Safety, Health, Environment and Risk Management.

He brings a wealth of experience in the chemical and processing industries to the operation, which has its headquarters in Stockton-on-Tees.

He said:  “I am excited to be joining px and look forward to helping with the continued growth of the business, for it to become even more successful and sustainable.”

Next month the px group is set to take on the operation of one of the UK’s largest gas processing operations at St. Fergus, North of Aberdeen.  It is a fully integrated energy infrastructure solutions business with over 400 people, providing operations and maintenance, engineering consultancy and energy trading services.

Born on Tyneside but brought up in Wigan, Mark joined ICI at Runcorn from school as a Technical Apprentice, before gaining a mechanical engineering degree at Imperial College, London.

After 18 years with ICI in the UK, Brazil and the USA, he was part of the polyester business sold to DuPont in 1998 and went on to help form a pan European joint venture polyester company (DuPontSA).

There followed a spell as Global Manufacturing Director for Elementis Chromium before Mark rejoined DuPontSA (by then called Advansa) as Chief Operating Officer in 2006.   He transferred with the business when it was sold to La Seda de Barcelona (LSB) and after the UK assets were placed in administration in mid 2009, led their sale to the Lotte Group of Korea.  Mark was Chief Executive Officer of Lotte Chemical UK Ltd. between January 2012 and September 2015.

Married with two sons, he is keen on sport – particularly football – having coached junior football with local team Stockton Town for seven years as well as being a season ticket holder at Manchester United.
