INTERNATIONAL RIDER ALEX BRAGG TO REPRESENT SSANGYONG BRAND

International Event Rider and British Team Member, Alex Bragg, is confirmed as a brand ambassador for SsangYong Motors – Korea’s oldest 4×4 and SUV specialist manufacturer.

Alex, who first qualified as a blacksmith with distinction, started his own horse shoeing business in 2001 before setting foot into the world of 3-day eventing, where he now competes internationally. Today he has significantly reduced his farrier commitments in pursuit of more success as an event rider.

Alex is ranked inside the top ten riders in the world and has achieved many top five placings at the pinnacle of the sport at 5* level. Alex has huge ambitions to represent team GBR at the Olympics, and further championships. His top horse, ‘Zagreb’ was ranked the number one horse of 2019 having been awarded “British Eventing Horse of the Year”. He has a very exciting team of horses to campaign in this 2020 season.

Commented Nick Laird, managing director of SsangYong Motor UK, “We are absolutely delighted to further support the equestrian world by supporting Alex and to have him as one of our brand ambassadors. The equestrian market is an audience that we value and where there is a genuine requirement for authentic four-wheel drive vehicles, noted for their off-road and towing capabilities. We look forward to working with Alex more closely over the forthcoming months.”

Alex, who has featured on Rudall’s round up on horse and country TV, as well as having other TV appearances, is hoping to enter aiming for the Zagreb Europeans in the summer, said; “I am really excited to support the SsangYong brand as they enter the equine market in the UK. I’m proud to be an ambassador and showcase the off road and towing capabilities of the Rexton and the Musso pick-up, which I believe will be invaluable to me when moving horses, and jumps and to get me to wet and muddy events in the winter!”

Eventing has become an integral part of SsangYong’s marketing activities complementing the firm’s focus on 4×4 vehicles and Sports Utility Vehicles. The equestrian audience presents a perfect platform for SsangYong’s range, including the awarding winning Musso pick-up truck and its flagship vehicle, Rexton.
