A land deal agreed by the developer of Wynyard Park is set to bring additional jobs and millions of pounds of further investment to the region.
National housebuilder Taylor Wimpey has accelerated plans for a second phase of housing at the exclusive development between Hartlepool and Stockton on Tees, injecting a projected £6m into the Hartlepool economy and creating over 80 new jobs during a four year construction period.
The deal follows hot on the heels of the huge success of Taylor Wimpey’s initial scheme and will create a further 109 high quality family homes within the 180 acre woodland setting of the highly sought-after location of Wynyard Park.
Taylor Wimpey has agreed an Employment Charter in order to guarantee that the jobs its new development is creating will be for local people.
The scheme will deliver a welcome financial boost for Hartlepool including around £1.5m in New Homes Bonus payments to Hartlepool Council over 6 years as well as £2.9m in council tax over the next decade. In addition, the proposals will make a financial contribution of just over £1m toward the delivery of affordable housing in Hartlepool.

At a time when millions of pounds are going into regenerating key areas of Hartlepool, this latest announcement from Wynyard Park and Taylor Wimpey is yet another vote of confidence in our town and its future.
“Not only will this second phase of the development create many more high quality family homes within the borough, it will bring a very welcome financial boost to the town, and thanks to the Employment Charter agreed between the Council and Taylor Wimpey, the jobs created over the four-year construction period will be for local people.”
Wynyard Park is located between Hartlepool and Stockton-on-Tees and is accessed via entrances on the A689 between the A19 and the A1.
A range of homes from entry level and executive houses from national
housebuilders, to areas created specifically for self-build are all incorporated within the development.
