North East Connected

Hopping Across The North East From Hub To Hub

Irish Lindisfarne fans will get a warm feeling on the Tyne

Capture8Two Lindisfarne fans from Ireland who missed out on seeing a show due to a rescheduled date and venue will be meeting their heroes on the corner in Newcastle later this autumn.

Life long fans Joan and Ann Gallagher from Quigleys Point in County Donegal  had tickets to see Ray Laidlaw and Billy Mitchell perform The Lindisfarne Story last year in Belfast. Unfortunately, the message about a change in date and venue didn’t reach the sisters and they travelled more than 85 miles to no avail.

When Ray and Billy found out about the sister’s wasted journey, they decided to put things right by inviting then to attend their new show at The Sage Gateshead on Saturday November 21st.

Not only are they going to be guests at the show but Ray and Billy are paying for their return flights and two nights city centre hotel accommodation too. They will also enjoy an after show drink together too.

“It was the least we could do, we hate to see people disappointed and as we don’t get across the Irish Sea very often we thought we’d bring them here to the city where the Lindisfarne Story began,” said Ray.

Joan added “We are naturally delighted and surprised by Ray and Billy’s

kindness and generosity and we look forward with happy anticipation to visiting Newcastle to see the show in November.”

The Lindisfarne Story opened in Keswick on September 13th and ends in Nettlebed on 30th November. There are 47 shows nationwide. The remaining North East shows include
