Screen Shot 2016-05-27 at 15.56.07County Durham Housing Group is holding two free workshops to give local jobseekers expert advice on writing letters to get interviews and jobs.

The sessions will take place:

  • Wednesday, 8 June from 10am to 12.30pm at Gully House, Wingate
  • Thursday, 16 June from 10am to 12.30pm at Woodhouse Close Children’s Centre, Bishop Auckland.

County Durham Housing Group’s Employment and Skills Officer, Claire Maddison, said: “Many people don’t know how to write appropriate content for a formal letter, which can lead to them missing out on job opportunities.

“Our free informal workshop will help attendees to gain the skills to write in a professional way when job-hunting.

“Anyone wishing to book a free place on the course or get further information should email employability@cdhg.co.uk or call 0191 349 7657.”

County Durham Housing Group’s Employment and Skills Team provides support to tenants of Dale & Valley Homes, Durham City Homes and East Durham Homes to find a job, access training, gain apprenticeships and venture into self-employment.

Details of future workshops across the county can be found at http://www.countydurhamhousinggroup.co.uk/events-calendar
