Newcastle, 29 July 2019, Jonathan Grubin, Founder & CEO of SoPost, the leading online product sampling platform has been shortlisted in the Entrepreneur of the Year and Scale-Up Entrepreneur of the Year categories at the 2019 NatWest Great British Entrepreneur Awards for the North East region.
The Great British Entrepreneur Awards celebrate the stories that have taken entrepreneurs to where they are today, regardless of size or turnover.
There are 60 finalists across the North East region in 11 categories, including Creative Industries, Disruptor, Scale-Up, Start-Up, and Young, as well as new additions; Food & Drink and Health & Beauty. The event will take place on 29 October in Newcastle, and regional winners will progress to the national awards ceremony.
These nominations come off the back of SoPost’s phenomenal growth over the past 12 months. During this period the company has seen its sales increase by 80% and has signed up over 50 new brands in the beauty, food & beverage, pharmaceuticals and baby care categories – alongside two new publishing partners, Hearst and PopSugar – with further announcements due later this year.
SoPost also created ten new roles across its different offices. Its Head Office in Newcastle strengthened its engineering and design capability, with its London office making senior hires into its commercial team, including the hiring of Toby Evans as Director of Platform & Publisher Partnerships. The company has built out its team in New York, recently moving to a new, larger office space in lower Manhattan to accommodate future growth across North America.

We are leading the way in an emerging industry and, despite my name being there, this nomination is really recognition of everything my teammates have accomplished over the last seven years.”
