Hopping Across The North East From Hub To Hub

Just the job for Redcar’s young people!

YOUNG people in Redcar and Cleveland are being offered the perfect foundation for success at a special careers open day at Redcar & Cleveland College.

Taking place on Tuesday 18 July 2017, 1pm-7pm, Foundation for Jobs’ skills event is Redcar and Cleveland‘s biggest jobs and careers fayre for the borough’s young people.

Young people (16 – 25) will be able to find out more about the range of opportunities open to them, including current apprenticeships they can apply for there and then, as well as meeting potential employers and organisations which can offer employer-valued skills training.

Councillor Craig Hannaway, cabinet member for children, said: “This is a great opportunity for young people to seek advice on which career path to take, as well as providing an insight to the many options available to them.”

The event is hosted by Foundation for Jobs, a programme set up to inspire and motivate young people to access the workplace and improve employability skills to develop future job prospects.

Councillor Hannaway continued: “Foundation for Jobs has been doing vital work since its launch and I’m positive that events like these, combined with the work being done in schools and colleges, will see young people given the right tools to succeed.”
