Grainger Park Boxing Club launch their Knives Down Gloves Up, Off The Streets anti gang and knife crime initiative.
The aim of the event is to make Newcastle aware of how Grainger Park Amateur Boxing Club and Knives Down Gloves Up are helping the young people within the community avoid becoming another gang related statistic.
On 27th October A boxing ring will be situated in the middle of the town centre with fully qualified coaches offering members of the public a chance to step between the ropes and into the ring to learn some basic techniques, along with hitting the pads.
As well as top sports stars from the North East making an appearance, members of the local authorities and Police Commissioner Kim McGuinness will also be in attendance.
