Landlords say it’s never too early to save for Christmas

L-R Joanne Wright, Sarah Taylor, Sid Rooke, Danielle Blackburn newA new savings partnership could help residents to pile up the pounds in preparation for the festive season.

Dale & Valley Homes, Durham City Homes and East Durham Homes, as part of County Durham, Housing Group,  have teamed up with NEFirst Credit Union to support their Christmas Savings Incentive Scheme.

The new scheme will help residents to plan ahead for what is a costly time of year, with the added incentive of entry into a free prize draw.

£100 prizes are up for grabs for customers who open an account before Monday, 1 August 2016, quote ‘Christmas’ and their housing provider on their application form, and save at least £20 by the end of November.

Sid Rooke from NEFirst, agrees that it’s never too early to start saving.

He said: “At NEFirst we encourage our members to save regularly to ensure they can make better use of their money; particularly during December which is always an expensive time of year.

“While people can open a savings account with us at any time, by signing up before August you could be in with a chance of one of three cash prizes depending on where you live.

“And don’t worry if you are an existing NEFirst customer, you can still open a new account for this particular scheme.”

Applicants do not have to be named on the Tenancy Agreement, but a household member of a property owned and managed by Dale & Valley Homes, Durham City Homes or East Durham Homes at the time of the free prize draw to qualify for entry.

NEFirst Credit Union has been providing savings and loan accounts for their members for more than 20 years.
