Construction work at Bellway’s Burdon Rise development in Sunderland is progressing well, with 49 homes now built and over half of the homes now sold.

The housebuilder is constructing 109 new four and five-bedroom detached houses which are proving highly popular among local buyers who already live in the area.

Building work at the development, which lies off Burdon Lane on the southern edge of Sunderland, began in spring 2019 and is on track to be completed by summer 2023.

Emma Chesterton, Sales Director for Bellway North East, said: “We’ve now passed the halfway mark with the number of homes sold at Burdon Rise and are really seeing this new neighbourhood in Sunderland taking shape.

“With 67 homes already sold, the development has attracted a good mix of buyers, particularly local people already living in and around the city.

“We’ve seen many families looking to upsize who have taken advantage of the spacious five-bedroom houses that Burdon Rise has to offer, while the prices of some of the four-bedroom homes at the development have been within reach of some first-time buyers.

“The site is also within walking distance of several well-regarded schools, making it ideal for those with young children.

“People appreciate being close to Sunderland’s vibrant selection of restaurants, cafes and shops, whilst also having the coast at Seaham and Seaburn within easy reach.”

There is a selection of four and five-bedroom homes currently for sale at Burdon Rise, with prices starting from £330,995.
