Last chance to apply for an apprenticeship

YOUNG people who have left secondary school, college or university and are looking for their next move are being encouraged to consider an apprenticeship at Redcar & Cleveland Borough Council.

Opportunities are available in a number of council departments, including HR, IT, Adult Care, Highways as well as the Data and Intelligence department so there should be something for everyone looking to learn & earn on the job.

There are 37 fantastic apprenticeship opportunities up for grabs however, the clock is ticking with the deadline for applications closing on Friday 3 November.

Many of the previous apprentices at the council have gone on to full-time work at the authority in areas such as the Events team, IT team, as well as the Neighbourhoods and Waste Services team to name a few.

As well as learning on the job, council apprentices will be working towards relevant qualifications in the role they’re working in to give them skills for the future.

Cllr Christopher Massey, Cabinet Member for Resources and Deputy Leader of the council, said: “Doing an apprenticeship is a great opportunity for young people to earn money while they learn and gain practical skills in the work place which will benefit them for years to come. The council is a big supporter of apprenticeships across the borough and I’m pleased that we can personally offer these opportunities to become part of the council team.”

Anyone interested in applying for an apprenticeship should complete the application form, which can be found on the council website or by calling 01642 444036. Completed applications can be emailed to HRTransactional@redcar-cleveland.gov.uk or posted to HR Transactional, Redcar & Cleveland Borough Council, Kirkleatham Street, Redcar, TS10 1RT before the deadline of Friday 3 November.

More information can also be found by going into the Job Centre.
